Murder in Vienna's Tiergarten: On the trail of the mysterious perpetrator!

Today, October 9, 2025, it's that time again: The latest case from “Der Wien-Krimi” will be shown this evening at 8:15 p.m. on ARD. The episode titled“Death in the Zoo”promises exciting entertainment in the backdrop of the famous Schönbrunn Zoo. It tells the story of investigators who have to deal with both a murder in the zoo and a mysterious attack.

In this exciting episode, the team becomes special investigatorsAlexander Haller(brilliantly embodied byPhilipp Hochmair) and his partnerMia Markovic(plays byClaudia Kottal) by CommissionerPeter Lassmann(played byMichael Edlinger) supports. The story takes its course as...Gustl Klingenberger(fromChristoph Luser) as a night guard discovers the body of a man on Monkey Island. Who could be the dead tax advisor Brunner, whose dark past is revealed in the course of the episode?

A complicated case

Things get particularly exciting when it becomes clear that Brunner has a chat history with the Viennese“Furry” sceneis connected. This leads the investigators into the exclusive milieu of the clubMarkus Böhm(presented byLeo Reisinger), where jealousy and clinging secrets charge the atmosphere. Brunner's relationship seems to have more shadows than light, adding to the complexity of the crime novel.

But that's not all. In parallel to the murder investigation, Markovic has to take care of another case: a robbery on a furniture transport that tragically ends in murder. As the investigation into the Müller puzzle continues to come together, the two cases raise numerous questions. How do the crimes come full circle and who has the true intentions?

The resolution

In the search for answers, it is a handed over item - a wristwatch handed over by a ring-tailed lemur - that provides the crucial clue. But the finale boasts a dramatic scene at the sports airport, where Haller not only solves the mystery, but also has to save Niko's life.
