Michael Krön leads ESC 2026: Austria ready for the music event!

Wien, Österreich - The preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in spring 2026 take place in Austria specific forms. Michael Krön was chosen as the overall manager of the project and is to take over the central organization of the event on ORF as an executive producer. The team, which already has experience from the successful 2015 event in Vienna, is at the side of a strong team of experts.

But Graz and St. Pölten also do not want to miss the chance, while Ebreichsdorf and Oberwart withdrew their applications shortly before the final.

The countdown runs

The hostcities have time to submit their documents by July 4, and a decision about the event location should be made by August 8th. The 70th edition of the competition could be an even greater spectacle because the interest is high. In June 2025, some cities have already announced their intentions to apply, including Graz with the town hall as a possible venue.
