Badner Bahn during the autumn holidays: Only limited operation!
The autumn holidays are just around the corner and with them comes an important announcement for all Badner Bahn users. The Vienna Local Railways are starting extensive modernization work on the railway line from October 25th to November 2nd. During this time, operations will be severely restricted vienna.at reported.
The sections of route between Vienna Opera and Inzersdorf Lokalbahn as well as from Tribuswinkel-Josefsthal to Pfaffstätten Rennplatz are particularly affected. Important work on the tracks and overhead lines is taking place on these sections.
Partial start of operations
However, part of the Badner Bahn will remain in operation. Traffic will be maintained on the following sections:
- Inzersdorf Lokalbahn bis Baden Josefsplatz
- Tribuswinkel-Josefsthal bis Pfaffstätten Rennplatz
A replacement rail service with buses will be set up for the areas not served, with transfers taking place directly at the Badner Bahn stops. Passengers should prepare for longer travel times and plan alternative routes if necessary. Recommended alternatives include:
- Straßenbahnlinie 62 zwischen Wien Oper und Bahnhof Meidling
- Buslinie 59A zwischen Oper und Meidling
- U-Bahn-Kombination U4/U6 von Karlsplatz über Längenfeldgasse nach Meidling
- Buslinien 66A und 67B ab U6-Station Alterlaa Richtung Inzersdorf Lokalbahn oder SCS
- Direktverbindungen nach Baden mit den ÖBB ab Wien Hauptbahnhof oder Bahnhof Meidling
As reported by the City of Vienna in a current report emphasized, the Badner Bahn will run regularly again on the entire route between Vienna Opera and Baden Josefsplatz after the work is completed on Monday, November 3rd.
What you should know
