Drug raid in Vienna: Police catch dealer in fake purchase!

Yesterday, on November 7th, 2025, the Vienna police again took action against the drug trade with two large-scale operations. These operations took place in the districts of Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus and Mariahilf and ended with the arrest of two men suspected of being involved in drug trafficking, as 5min.at reports.

The first operation took place around midday on Sechshauser Strasse, where a 60-year-old Austrian was arrested as a suspected seller. A 43-year-old customer was also reported during the operation after a small amount of drug was seized.

The second operation took place in the evening in the underpass on Gumpendorfer Straße. Here, a 28-year-old Iranian attracted attention when he offered Substitol tablets to officials in exchange for cash. After a sham purchase, the arrest followed, which took place on the orders of the Vienna public prosecutor's office. The man confessed and was transferred to a prison. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office is now conducting further investigations to identify possible backers and distribution channels in the city's drug environment.

These actions are part of extensive police measures aimed at combating drug trafficking in public spaces, particularly on the streets. The operations make it clear that the police are taking decisive action against such crime and show how important the issue is for the safety of citizens.

In the international context, it is worth mentioning that the news from the USA, specifically the tragic crash of a UPS cargo plane in Louisville, Kentucky, has touched many people. The incident, which occurred on November 5, left at least 12 people dead, including a child. Mayor Craig Greenberg and Gov. Andy Beshear have highlighted the situation as extremely serious. According to USA Today reports, the search for missing people has now turned into a recovery operation as the chances of survival become increasingly slim.

These two events show how different the challenges can be in different cities and countries. While Vienna is actively combating local drug crime, Louisville is struggling with the consequences of a tragic accident.

It remains a constant challenge for Vienna to make public life safer and protect its citizens. With a focus on prevention measures and targeted operations, the police hope that this fight against the drug environment will continue to make positive progress.
