65 years of brass music: Festive musician meeting in Liesing celebrated!

On Sunday, July 6, 2025, the 65th district musician meeting takes place in the picturesque Liesing in the Lesachtal. This event attracts musicians: inside and guests from the entire Hermagor district and promises a varied program that also reflects the musical diversity of the region. Organized by the Trachtenkapelle Liesing, the event has already triggered great anticipation among the music lovers.

Under the sky of Liesing, the day begins with an ecumenical service that starts at 9:00 a.m. In the middle of the impressive backdrop, a large orchestra will make music from the chapels of the Lesach Valley, which perfectly accompanies the solemn mood. The ceremony, which follows, offers a joint game of all participating chapels and is a real highlight of the meeting. The musicians: Four different works will be performed inside, including the "Intrada" from "A Little Concert Suite" as well as the marches "under the cricket banner" and "Hoch Lesachtal".

The event also has a lot to offer. In the marquee, visitors can expect: Among other things, Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad, alpine tones with pulled pork as well as hearty pasta and fresh salads. There is something for every taste here. Even a small fixed badge for the souvenir is available for only € 7.00 and is likely to put many in the festive mood.

The participants are invited all day: inside to actively participate. From 1:30 p.m. a sound cloud on the village square will be heard, followed by an impressive pageant that leads from the village square to the festival area at 2:00 p.m. Despite the possibly rainy weather, humor and discipline are marched, accompanied by an audience that gathers in hand with umbrellas.

As a further highlight for brass music fans in the coming year, the 43rd Austrian brass music festival on August 30, 2025 in Vienna should be pointed out. Visitors can expect: more than 500 brass musicians inside: inside from Austria, South Tyrol and Liechtenstein, who will enliven the city center with music. A total concert will take place at Rathausplatz, which forms the crowning glory of the day before all participants: march together on the inside.
