International Junior Cycling Tour: Excitement in Upper Austria!
In Upper Austria we are heading towards an exciting sporting event: The International Junior Cycling Tour will take place in the region from Friday, July 25th to Sunday, July 27th. At this event, over 150 young riders from 10 nations compete against each other to prove themselves on one of the most important platforms for young cyclists. The ÖAMTC reports that this tour serves to promote talent in cycling and has a long history.
The event is known as the “No Worries” Junior Tour, which is part of the UCI Cat. MJ 2.1. Here the participants have the chance of valuable UCI rating points, stage wins and possibly the overall victory. Historically, cycling stars such as Tadej Pogacar and Fabian Cancellara have already taken part in this tour, which makes the competition particularly attractive. Racing Bike Austria added, that 144 young drivers will take part in 2024, which further underlines the importance of this event.
Overview of the stages of the tour
The tour is planned as follows:
- 1. Etappe: Am Freitag, 25. Juli, startet der Rundkurs in Marchtrenk um 17:00 Uhr, bevor die jungen Radprofis um 20:30 Uhr das Ziel erneut in Marchtrenk erreichen.
- 2. Etappe: Am Samstag, 26. Juli, beginnt die Etappe in Sarleinsbach um 16:00 Uhr mit dem Ziel um 18:30 Uhr in Rohrbach.
- 3. Etappe: Am Sonntag, 27. Juli, startet die Strecke in Bad Wimsbach um 11:30 Uhr und endet um 14:15 Uhr in Straß im Attergau. Hier sind zwei Bergwertungen in Wald eingeplant.
These stages not only promise exciting competitions, but also require maximum concentration and performance from the drivers. The tour could prove to be a stepping stone for many athletes as it takes place in front of coaches and scouts.
