Japan Ball in the Palace: A celebration of culture and elegance!
In just a few days the time has come: the Japan Ball will take place on November 14th in the impressive Palais Niederösterreich. What awaits the guests is not only a feast for the senses, but also a cultural encounter of a special kind. The venue, which was once the seat of the Lower Austrian state government, is transformed into a dazzling ballroom in which tradition and modernity come together.
The evening's program begins with the classic Viennese ball opening, which offers guests the opportunity to present themselves in traditional Japanese or Western evening wear. An exciting mix of Viennese ball tradition and Japanese music will shape the evening. The musical highlight is the solo program by koto virtuoso Fuyuki Enokido, who boasts an impressive biography. She began playing the koto at the age of three, studied at the renowned Tokyo University of the Arts and has performed in over 36 countries. As a culture and art exchange ambassador for the Japanese Ministry of Culture, she was seen at the G-7 summit in 2016 and 2023 as well as in the cultural program of the Olympic Games in Rio 2020.
Musical diversity and well-known presenters
But that's not all: a selection of classic Viennese ball music will be performed by the renowned Vienna Royal Orchestra. From waltzes to polkas to quadrilles – the musical palette is wide-ranging and promises unforgettable dance moments.
The two charming presenters Marco Di Sapia and Yuiko Osada will lead the evening. Marco Di Sapia is not only a well-known opera singer, but has also enjoyed great success as an actor and presenter. He made his stage debut in 2000 with “Candide” at the Neue Oper Vienna and has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Volksoper Vienna since 2013. His impressive list of roles includes classics such as The Magic Flute, Carmen and La Traviata, making him an ideal choice to host such a special event.
