Hietzing gets residents' parking zone and new information board for a work of art!

Something is happening in Hietzing! From the end of December, a new residents' parking zone will be set up, which will affect the area around Trauttmansdorffgasse and Wattmanngasse. Without the right parking space, it will be tight there because only residents are allowed to park their cars in this zone. This is the city's response to the increasing parking problems and hopefully creates more space for residents so that the search for a parking space will soon be a thing of the past. Meanwhile, the initiative to set up a new information board for the “Peace and Sensory Garden” artwork in Siebenbrunnengasse was also launched by the district SPÖ and ÖVP. Visitors are offered a 70 meter long path made of stone rubble, which clearly explains the stages of human development. That's one more reason to stroll through the beautiful district!

What’s going on in the city? In Simmering, a moving wreath-laying ceremony took place at the central cemetery. Mayor Michael Ludwig and police chief Gerhard Pürstl laid a wreath in honor of those who died in the First and Second World Wars. This commemoration is important and gives citizens the opportunity to pay respect to the past and reflect on peace.

Sport and modernization in Hernals

At the same time, a project is also being pushed forward in Hernals: the postal sports club is to be modernized. This comes after there was a construction freeze in 2022. The post office has big plans for the post sports field in Roggendorfgasse. The redesign aims to combine modern living space with contemporary sports facilities. But there are still further discussions to get the project up and running. This also shows that the city and investors have a good hand for development.

Finally, it should be noted that art and culture are not forgotten in the city. The term “art” itself has a long history, dating back to the Middle Low German period. This artistry, which comes from the root “kunnen” (“know”), not only brings us works of art such as the “Peace and Sensory Garden”, but can also be felt in many areas of life and enrich our lives. Whether it's art, crafts or creating something new, the diversity in Vienna is almost endless.

Overall, it is clear: Vienna remains lively and dynamic. Many corners are being worked on and thought about in order to give the population back a piece of quality of life!
