New vintage shop in Vienna: A paradise for bargain hunters!

In Vienna, Volkshilfe has created an exciting concept with its newly designed vintage shop at Thaliastrasse 130 in Ottakring that is both creative and socially committed. Claudia Bernatz, the head of the TAV operations of Volkshilfe Wien, emphasizes that the vision of the shop is not only to offer vintage fashion and unique items, but also to make a contribution to the circular economy. This vintage shop invites you to browse and offers a large selection of unique finds: from clothing and crockery to children's toys, books and small goods. The motto “Whoever seeks, finds” makes every visit a little adventure where you can always discover new treasures. courier reports that the goods come from donations in kind and apartment clearances and therefore actively support the project for the reintegration of long-term unemployed people.

The redesign of the shop was led by the architects Hanna Aufner and Alexander Mayer from Via Architektur. This idea was developed as part of a project at the New Design University in St. Pölten, where the students designed various pavilions, each of which exudes a special atmosphere. In “Studio 54”, for example, you will find glittering dresses and champagne flutes, while the “Landhaus” pavilion embodies the charm of rural life. Another highlight, the “Wonderland” pavilion, is dedicated to kitsch and often ensures that employees work late shifts because the items on display are in particularly high demand.

A new approach to vintage and secondhand

The opportunity to discover special vintage pieces is trendy. This is in keeping with the times, as the demand for sustainable fashion is constantly growing. According to an analysis by Vouge Vintage The second-hand market plays a crucial role in the fashion industry. Vintage thrift stores promote the reuse and recycling of clothing and actively contribute to extending the life of fashion items. At the same time, conscious consumption is being brought to the fore - consumers are increasingly aware of the ecological impact of their purchasing decisions and prefer stylish, sustainable alternatives.

With its vintage shop, Volkshilfe is a prime example of this development. The turnover from the goods sold not only finances the shop itself, but also the various qualification measures that help long-term unemployed people get back into working life. This combination of social responsibility and an appealing shopping experience makes the Volkshilfe vintage shop a place where you can shop well and do good at the same time.
