Discotheque Club Village in Favoriten is on fire – major fire!
On the night of Tuesday, November 18, 2025, a devastating fire broke out in the popular trendy club “Club Village” on Daumegasse, Vienna-Favoriten. When the fire brigade arrived, the flames were already coming out of the roof, which resulted in an alarm level 2 being declared. This ensured that sufficient emergency services could be mobilized to deal with the accident. A total of 23 fire engines with 88 personnel were deployed to fight the fire, which fortunately did not claim any lives at the time of the incident as the club was closed.
The operation began around 1:00 a.m. and lasted eight hours. Despite the significant damage to the building, which partially led to the collapse of the single-story structure, the firefighters managed to prevent the flames from spreading to an adjacent supermarket. The teams mainly operated under respiratory protection and used two water cannons and six fire lines. Respiratory protection teams opened the roof with motorized rescue saws in order to be able to specifically fight the flames.
Significant property damage
The material damage to the “Club Village” can be classified as extensive; the exact extent of the damage is currently unknown. It wasn't until 9:17 a.m. that the emergency services were able to give the “fire out” response. The follow-up work continued until the early morning hours. The investigation into the cause of the fire has already begun, but there is currently no tangible information. The police are investigating here.
“This is really a serious blow for this popular institution in our area,” said one resident, concerned about the events. The club was not only a nightlife spot, but also a popular meeting place for the local youth.
Fire protection statistics in focus
Incidents like the fire in the “Club Village” raise questions about fire safety, not only here in Vienna, but also internationally. There are no comprehensive and uniform fire statistics in many countries, including here in Austria. However, statistics from Germany show that regular updates and detailed analysis could make a significant contribution to improving fire safety, ensuring safety for those who wish to visit this popular location again in the future.
Overall, it remains to be seen what measures will be taken to optimize security in such facilities in the future. Quickly clarifying the cause of the fire could be the first step in the right direction.
The developments surrounding the “Club Village” and the progress in the investigation will continue to be closely monitored in the coming days and weeks. The local community hopes for an early resolution and reconstruction of the beloved nightclub.
