A lot is happening in the lakeside town of Aspern: the new urban district “Seecarré” will be built on the northwest bank of Lake Aspern. The winning projects from the architecture and property developer competitions have now been announced and will be exhibited in the aspern Seestadt art space from June 24th to 28th. The opening of the exhibition will be attended by prominent representatives such as district chairman Ernst Nevrivy and the board of Vienna-3420, Robert Grüneis. Sustainable development plays a particularly central role. Vice Mayor Kathrin Gaál emphasizes the goal of creating affordable living space here for future generations.

- F6 (SOZIALBAU): „FLOW + FrischLuftOrientiertesWohnen + Arbeiten“ – vier Baukörper für Wohn- und Gewerbenutzung.
- F7 (ARE): „Wohnen am Anger“ – Hofanlage mit Bäumen und kommunikativen Freiräumen.
- F12 (ÖVW): Gemischt genutztes Wohn- und Geschäftshaus mit Kindergarten.
- F13 (ÖVW): Vier Baukörper umschließen einen grünen Hof, geprägt durch die „Seelaube“.
- F9B (GFW): „Nadia & Simone – Wohnen in Bewegung!“ – Generationenwohnen mit Sportangeboten.
- F10 (Neues Leben & Schönere Zukunft): „Fit für Morgen“ – Wohnbau mit Sporthalle, Generationencafé und Ärztezentrum.
- F9A (Wipark): „Garage im Seecarré“ – Parkgarage mit Fahrradabstellplätzen, Paketboxen und Bewegungsraum.
The exhibition shows the designs daily from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and runs until June 28th. “Seecarré” is the third subsidized housing project in Seestadt, after the “Pionierquartier” and the “Am Seebogen” quarter.
Extensions and infrastructure
The Seestadt Aspern is growing and the demand for infrastructure is increasing. Plans to extend tram line 25 are in progress, although the time frame for this remains undetermined. But tram line 27, which connects Aspern Nord train station with the U2 station, is due to go into operation soon.
