The S-Bahn master route between Floridsdorf and Praterstern is also included in the work and will be closed until September 1st. This is part of the "S-Bahn Vienna Upgrade" program to improve the infrastructure. For everyone who depends on the S-Bahn, a rail replacement traffic with yellow direct buses from Praterstern to Floridsdorf is offered, while a blue SEV bus operates all stations. Track work is underway on Hütteldorfer Straße, which leads to the setting of line 49; Lines 46 and 52 take over parts of the route.
But it is not only built in the subway area: From July 1, 2025, extensive work on the Ringstrasse, including Carinthian Ring, Schubertring and University Ring, begins. Four tram lines - 1, 2, 71 and D - are redirected here, and this will be partly the case until the end of August. In order to defuse the situation, the subway in other areas will strengthen traffic.

The current restrictions are part of a larger renovation of public transport in Vienna. According to Wiener Linien , extensive renovation and modernization work in the tram and subway sector will be carried out in 2025.
