JFV 37 Göttingen is aiming for the title at the big REWE JUNIORCUP!
The anticipation is growing! JFV 37 Göttingen has announced with great enthusiasm that it will take part in the 35th REWE JUNIORCUP, which will take place from January 8th to 11th, 2026 in the Lokhalle Göttingen. The club, which was founded in 2021 and consists of the parent clubs RSV Göttingen 05, SC Hainberg and SVG Göttingen, will be competing in the Lokhalle for the fourth time and is comfortably in third place in the state league, just four points behind the league leaders, Eintracht Northeim. Coach Lars Willmann and Oliver Hille are optimistic about following in the footsteps of last year's winner in the tournament.
The youth team offers all age groups from C to A youth and has already attracted attention in the past, such as the last time it took part, where attacker Tom Brille was awarded “MVP regional”. Captain and goalkeeper Luca Gundlach emphasizes the special importance of participation, which represents a valuable experience for the players. The team is not only aiming for a place in the quarter-finals, but also for the title of “Best Region” in order to stand out from the strong competition.
A tournament with tradition
The REWE JUNIORCUP has now become Europe's largest U19 indoor tournament. The list of participants is impressive: names like Fortuna Düsseldorf, FC Brugge and even Hamburger SV have already taken part in this prestigious event. Also in this edition, JSG Radolfshausen/Eichsfeld will complete the regional field of participants, while Borussia Mönchengladbach can proudly look back on 20 participations, where they also won the tournament in 2007. The official website of the tournament, rewejuniorcup.com, offers all information about the event.
This sporting event not only attracts top-class teams, but also numerous spectators who will enjoy the atmosphere in the Lokhalle. A very special thank you goes to the new premium partner 1KOMMA5° Göttingen GmbH, an up-and-coming CleanTech startup that has quickly established itself in Hamburg since it was founded in 2021.
Youth tournaments and engagement
Youth football was also promoted in other places in the region. TSV Pfedelbach, which will hold Haltermine on February 11th and 12th, 2023, has put together a colorful program for the E to F youth. Young talents can look forward to exciting duels here. The organizer Frank Spohn, together with Engin Kisalar, carefully planned everything to create a great atmosphere for players and spectators. The tournaments are based on fair play mode, which is particularly beneficial for the e-youth area in order to guarantee fair competition.
Overall, it shows that football is lively in the region and there are plenty of opportunities to love the game and prove yourself in the team. Preparations for the REWE JUNIORCUP are in full swing and the entire football community is looking forward to an exciting tournament.
