Villach, Österreich - Summer has arrived, and that not only brings sun, but also exciting events in Carinthia. Under the motto "Summer competitions" and the annual state apprentice competition, young talents from the region are given the opportunity to demonstrate their skills. The event took place on June 23, 2025 at the specialist vocational school 2 in Villach and gathered the best car apprentices of the third year of apprenticeship.

In the competitions in car technology and body construction technology, the participants had to show their manual skills and technical understanding. The tasks ranged from the basic engine setting and the diagnosis of brake and ABS systems until troubleshooting in the motorcycle gear-everything a prospective vehicle technician needs to know. The body farm technicians also had their own challenges: they had to judge damaged sheet metal parts, welding and painting. The results of the competition are impressive! In the car technology category, the first prize went to Anna-Maria Bergmann from Man Truck & Bus Vertrieb Austria GmbH. She was able to prevail against strong competition, followed by Leon Hobel from the Laschkolnig car dealership in Völkermarkt in second place and Lukas Egerer-Köhler from Wolfgang Denzel AG in Klagenfurt in third place.

in body construction technology, Marvin Robwein prevailed from the Staber dealership and secured first place. Marcel Unterserelle from Autohaus Patterer GmbH in Hermagor was second, followed by Noah L. Mitzner from the Hausott Karosserie Gesellschaft M.B.H. in Villach.

A look into the future

The state apprentice competition is an important step for the prospective specialists, because the best participants qualify for the state championships in autumn 2025 in Villach. Michael Schnabl, the state guild master of vehicle technology, emphasized in his speech, how impressed he was of the professionalism and the high level of willingness to perform the apprentices. "These young talents show that the training in Carinthia takes place at the highest level," said Schnabl.

While the young talents did their best, visitors also enjoyed a varied supporting program. The summer winning of regional media Carinthia raffled off camping vacations, which probably caused one or the other visitors: inside that were shining.
