Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus: Future projects for quality of life and climate!
The Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus district administration is entering the new legislative period with energy and enthusiasm. At the first working session, numerous projects and events for the second half of the year and the coming years were presented. A clear direction: to increase the quality of life for all Viennese. The district leader Dietmar Baurecht has some exciting projects in his luggage.
The focus is on expanding the infrastructure and renovating educational institutions, making the neighborhoods more attractive and climate protection. Especially those Redesign of Outer Mariahilfer Straße will continue. The upper section of Clementinengasse should also be car-free, which will ensure more space and safety for pedestrians. In addition, sidewalks will be widened and barriers minimized.
New climate protection projects in the district
The new climate protection projects that are now being implemented in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus are closely linked to the quality of life plans. From a total of 84 submitted designs, citizen juries selected 23 projects to be realized in the next two years. The focus is on greening public spaces, climate-friendly mobility and strengthening community life. The projects also include a climate-friendly meeting zone and a local recreation area.
As part of the Vienna Climate Team, which was launched in 2022, over 1,600 ideas were submitted and fleshed out by committed citizens. The next round of the climate team begins in September 2024 and will continue in the Josefstadt and Penzing districts. The climate team’s projects are another step in the right direction to make the city climate-proof and future-proof.
Events that promote cohesion
The district leadership not only focuses on projects, but also on community. Numerous events are planned to promote togetherness and coexistence. These include the RUN 15 district run, the district festival weeks, the water world festival, the twilight pint and a Christmas village. These activities not only provide entertainment, but also strengthen interpersonal exchange.
Another item on the agenda is the renovation work at educational institutions such as the GTVS Reichsapfelgasse. Progress should also be made in traffic calming and climate protection measures in the coming years. The district management also actively supports small and medium-sized companies as well as social institutions and emergency services organizations.
In summary, it can be said that Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus is on an excellent path to sustainably improving the quality of life in the district through a combination of infrastructure projects, climate protection and social initiatives. With the new projects and strong citizen participation, there is movement in the neighborhoods. An overview of all new projects impressively shows how much creative power there is in the district.
