New café dal Pirata”: Southern Italian delicacies at Schwendermarkt!

The new café “dal Pirata” is winning the hearts of Viennese people and bringing southern Italian flair to Schwendermarkt. Emanuele Domenico Signorile's business, originally from Puglia, offers authentic Italian cuisine that draws on family recipes and immerses guests in the flavors of Italy. Located in a former liquor store, the café with its creative furnishings - a large awning, umbrellas and lovingly decorated tables - creates an inviting atmosphere.

The menu at “dal Pirata” includes a wide range of delicious dishes to delight the palate. The freshly baked focaccia and the daily changing lunch plates are particularly popular. Among the special offers are antipasti, Parmigiana di Melanzane and hearty lasagna, which will satisfy even the most demanding gourmet for just 10 euros. The cannoli are also a delicacy: classic with ricotta filling for 3.50 euros or the larger version with pistachio cream for 4.90 euros. The refrigerated display case inside also impresses with Italian specialties that invite you to linger.

Opening times and product range

While the Schwendermarkt locations are closed in the winter months, the restaurant at Reindorfgasse 42 remains open from Wednesday to Sunday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Emanuele has a good knack for selecting seasonal products because he knows many retailers personally. As a result, the range reflects the diversity of southern Italian cuisine. Choose from fresh olive oil, taralli, wines and pickled vegetables to complete the culinary experience.

The lively atmosphere of the café attracts numerous regular customers who stop by not only for food, but also for exchange and socializing. The “dal Pirata” has quickly developed into a meeting place for connoisseurs who want to experience the warmth and hospitality of Italy up close. Opening times at Schwendermarkt are Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 10pm, making the café a great stop for day visitors and night owls.
