Drug dealers in Vienna: Police catch trio in the act!

In a remarkable police operation on November 14, 2025 in Vienna, three suspected drug dealers were arrested. The criminal police task force to combat street crime (EGS) observed the men, aged 41, 49 and 55, apparently dealing drugs. All three men come from Nigeria and have been temporarily arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking. During identity checks in the Margareten, Neubau and Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus districts, the police seized around 1,500 euros in denominations typical of the scene as well as small amounts of cocaine, as 5Min reports.

The arrest of the suspects is part of a broader police strategy to crack down on drug trafficking in Vienna. “Our investigators have a good sense of where fraudulent transactions are being carried out,” said a very satisfied police spokesman. In this specific case, a number of clues were used to monitor the men, which ultimately led to their capture. They are now in police custody and further investigations are underway to find those behind the attack or others involved, adds MeinBezirk.

The buyers in focus

But it's not just the dealers who are in the investigators' sights. The buyers have also been reported under the Narcotic Drugs Act. A total of four men aged 28, 35, 37 and 41, as well as a 33-year-old woman, all of Austrian citizenship, and a 69-year-old Tunisian citizen were arrested by the police. These arrests highlight the ongoing polarity and pressing issue of drug trafficking in the city.

It's not just the numbers that are shocking, but also the far-reaching consequences that consumption and trade have. The Viennese authorities are therefore still required to strengthen the public's sense of security and take a clear line against drug-related crime. It remains to be seen how the investigation develops and whether additional suspects can be identified as the city also immerses itself in the festive spirit during the upcoming Christmas season.

A look at the festivities

To increase the anticipation of the Christmas season, the Coca-Cola Christmas truck is touring through Austria. In addition to 24 stops in different cities, it brings a festive atmosphere and offers numerous competitions that promise fun Christmas moments. Coca-Cola Santa Claus will also be out and about to make the citizens happy, reports MeinBezirk.

Amidst these festive moods, however, the police's attention remains focused on the dark side of urban life. When it comes to combating drug-related crime, there is a willingness to take action against stubborn and commercial structures. This incident is a strong sign that the Vienna police continue to work actively to maintain a sense of security in the city and to protect the delicate plant of holiday cheer.
