The former tennis star, who made a name for himself as a former number 3 in the world and won 17 ATP titles-including the glossy victory at the US Open 2020-took a long break in the Landesliga match. This encounter was not only celebrated by the spectators as a highlight, but was also a small friendship service for his father's tennis school, Wolfgang Thiem.

Thiem found himself in the semi -finals and competed against Lukas Krainer from the WAC. The performance was more than remarkable: Thiem secured victory with a clear 6: 2 and 6: 1. It was a real festival for the spectators, because the whole area was heavily revitalized - the amounts of spectators and parked cars framed the action. For entertainment, Thiem's ​​biggest rallies were presented on a flat screen. The mood was exuberant, many fans took time for selfies and autographs with their favorite player.

After the individual game, Thiem also had a double with Moritz on the program. There, however, there was an unexpected end when they lost to their opponents. Nevertheless, the hope remains large with the members of the tennis club: after more than 20 years without a title, old Erlaa could finally get a trophy uphill again.
