Also noteworthy is the unbeaten SPORTUNION Die FALKEN St. Pölten, which defended first place in the table with a narrow 33:32 against HC FIVERS WAT Margareten 2. The FALKEN led early, but suffered a setback from the combative FIVERS.

Spiders and Bregenz shine in the west

The Spiders Wels also show impressive performances in the HLA Challenge West. They won their game against medalp Innsbruck Handball Tirol with 30:29 after leading 15:13 at halftime. The Tyroleans came close in the final phase, but were unable to bag the victory.

ALPLA HC Hard FT was in a class of its own in the duel against UHC Salzburg and clearly won 34:22. The first half was characterized by high tempo and dominating play. Bregenz Handball FT also secured a thrilling 34:33 win against SK KONSTANT Traun/Edelweiss after Traun led at halftime and Bregenz turned the game around after the break.
