Steyr becomes colorful: Ascent to the Pride city for diversity and tolerance!

Steyr, Österreich - in Steyr, June in 2024 again became a colorful celebration of the diversity: Under the motto "Steyr is and remains pride", the city sets a strong sign of tolerance and acceptance of the LGBTQIA+community. The initiative of City Councilor Katrin Auer, who is responsible for equal treatment, is celebrated this year with numerous activities that make both the colorful flag of diversity and the voices of support and equality visible. All of this happens as part of the Steyr Pride alliance, which brings together a large number of local organizations and groups from the social and cultural area, including the Soho, Younited and Grandmas against right, to name just a few. As in previous years, the city will be decorated with colorful rainbow signs in June. You can look forward to a variety of elements: different flags, a colorful crosswalk, a specially designed park bench and flowering flower beds that beautify public space! A diverse program is waiting

A highlight of the celebrations will be the pride month, which comes up with several events. On 5. July 2024 the Pride Brunch takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the vault youth center. This is aimed at young people between the ages of 13 and 19 who can register in advance on 0676 8776 5771. Immediately afterwards, a prayer for diversity and tolerance in front of the Michaelerkirche invites you from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by the Great Pride Parade at 2 p.m., which starts at the cultural container. The parade will take a new route through the city and everything will be rounded off by DJ Captain Caracho in the afternoon in the Culturcontainer with a pride party at 4 p.m.

The supporting program is then added under the motto “Stuff and Fun” by the Neutor Grünmarkt campaigns with the slogan “Yes We Care” and “Ropher instead of splitting”.
