Demolition in Wildeshausen: space for 21 new apartments is created!
Zwischenbrücken, Deutschland - The Wildeshauser Zwischenbrücken district is under the name of change. A strong demolition has been carried out here since Thursday morning: a arcade and a residential building have to give way to make room for 21 new apartments. Investor Helmut Rang has launched the project, and the excavator has already diligently put on hand, parts of the facade have already fallen. However, the demolition also has its dark side: the street "Zwetbrücken" is closed to work, which led to endless traffic jams in the morning, especially due to the traffic light circuit.
This step is no coincidence. The construction and administrative committee approved the demolition. Although a conservation statute applies in the area, the majority was not given for the preservation of the existing buildings. So it remains exciting how the urban landscape will develop in the near future. However, the demolition work is only part of a larger plan, as nwzonline reported.
New life on the marketplace
The Meyer family also had big plans: At the corner of Burgstrasse/Marktplatz, they are planning to build a new residential and commercial building. The planned building, which is supposed to offer commercial space on the ground floor and first floor, received almost unanimous approval in the construction committee. But here too it is about the demolition of a dilapidated corner house at Burgstraße 5, which must give way to the construction of the new building.
In a rustic clinker construction, the new building is intended to offer 543 square meters of living and usable space. The design is reminiscent of old traditions, with a shield gable and sprout windows. However, the investors also have to overcome some bureaucratic hurdles: an demolition permit and approval for the exceeding of the construction limits through balconies and loggies are necessary.
criticism and future prospects
The discussion has not remained without criticism. The UWG politician Heiner Spille voted against approval because the old house is considered the oldest of its kind in the city. Hermann Hitz abstained. The final decision is made on November 1st in the administrative committee. This shows that despite the urge to go forward, it has to be kept again and again in order to protect urban identity.
Another advance of building manager Hans Uffferfilge aims to create a conservation statute for similar projects in the city center. This wants to determine binding criteria for demolitions, changes or the use of buildings. The costs for the necessary research with a historian are estimated at around 30,000 euros.
Overall, there is a trend in these developments that DBA-Bau has also observed: the focus on sustainable and economic building. With projects that combine urban development and modern living, it can be seen how important well -considered planning is. The balancing act between progress and tradition remains a central challenge for those responsible in Wildeshausen.
