Mistfest 2025: Celebrate climate protection in Vienna!
In a few days, the Hernals manure site will once again become a venue for sustainability and enjoyment! The popular Mistfest 2025 will take place on September 13th and 14th, 2025. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., all interested visitors are invited to explore the colorful program on climate protection and the circular economy. Organized by the committed 48ers in Vienna, this festival will not only provide fun, but also provide important impulses for environmentally conscious action, as [5min.at](https://www.5min.at/5202508311658/nachhaltig- Feiern-48er-mistfest-find-bald-in-wien-statt/) reports.
The Mistfest offers a variety of highlights: In addition to tips on climate protection and information on the circular economy, visitors can take part in a climate tour or visit the numerous information stands. There is a children's flea market for the little ones and live music is also a must. On Saturday, festival visitors can look forward to performances by Ina Regen, Dennis Jale & Niddl and Lizzi Engstler & Band. On Sunday WIR4, Domenico Limardo & Erik Arno and the music project “R.ock l.n P.eace…In Memoriam of the Superstars” will be on stage.
Sustainability in focus
Environmental awareness plays a big role in Vienna. The city actively promotes resource conservation and a circular economy. Initiatives such as the “48er-Tandler”, repair cafés and the Mistfest help to avoid waste and protect the environment, as the City of Vienna explains on its website. What is interesting is that the Vienna repair voucher helped avoid around 2,800 tons of CO2. Such programs are part of the comprehensive strategy aimed at making Vienna a pioneer in the field of sustainable development. wien.gv.at emphasizes that educational offers on the circular economy also help to raise awareness among the population.
As part of these efforts, the PUMA environmental management program was launched, which supports the city administration in saving energy and using resources efficiently. In the construction industry, too, new regulations rely on sustainable materials and methods in order to integrate circular economy into all areas of life.
The path to a circular economy
But what exactly is achieved when we talk about circular economy? A central goal of the Austrian government's national circular economy strategy, which was decided in December 2022, is to preserve the value of products for as long as possible and minimize waste, as the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism explained. The Austrian economy is to be transformed into a climate-neutral and sustainable way by 2050. This requires a clear roadmap: reducing material consumption, promoting recycling and a sustainable product policy are at the top of the agenda.
The Mistfest 2025 is not only a feast for the senses, but also an important platform to promote awareness of sustainable action. Visitors can not only enjoy numerous offers and activities, but also actively contribute to climate protection - in a relaxed, entertaining way. Whether by bike or public transport, getting to the festival is easy and sustainable. Pets are also welcome as long as they are on a leash and wearing a muzzle. One more reason not to miss Mistfest 2025!
