Advent concert in Dörnbach: Rhoihesse Brass plays for Christmas!
This year the Advent season in Dörnbach will be enhanced with music. On December 20th at 7 p.m., the quintet “Rhoihesse Brass” invites you to the Protestant church to put you in the pre-Christmas mood with a festive concert. Admission is free, which gives the concert a special accessibility that is particularly appreciated by the organizers. The brass quintet, consisting of two trumpets, a horn, a trombone and a tuba, consists of amateur musicians who have their roots in Rhine-Hessian trombone choirs. This diversity and local connection brings a special charm to the performances.
The musical mood for Christmas couldn't be more beautiful. The program includes numerous musical highlights, including “Daughter Zion”, an idiosyncratically arranged piece by Georg Friedrich Handel, which is opened by tuba player Ulrich Görzel. The tonal diversity of the ensemble is particularly enhanced by the acoustics of the church. Trumpeter Michael Botens highlights the high technical implementation and intonation of his colleagues, who show remarkable skills and bring the beauty of the music closer to the audience.
A festival of sounds
The audience will be captivated, among other things, by arrangements of Vivaldi's Trumpet Concerto in C major, which was arranged by Hans Zellner. In addition, a variety of traditional Christmas songs will be reinterpreted, such as “Leise ripples der Schnee” and “Es ist ein Ros' entsprungen”, which will be heard in modern arrangements by Günther Powwils. Jutta Kröhle-Boos will lighten up the musical pieces with stories from everyday Christmas life, which will make the event all the more lively.
“Rhoihesse Brass” is not only planning this concert, but also a big anniversary concert on June 29, 2024 in Dexheim, where 20 years of making music together will be celebrated. A concise proof of the consistency and commitment of the musicians who pursue their art with passion and dedication.
