Esslingen’s youth baroque orchestra The Telemen” triumphs in Vienna!

July 11, 2025 will remain a memorable day for the youth baroque orchestra “The Telemen.” At the international music competition Summa Cum Laude Festival in Vienna they won first prize “with excellent success”. Under the direction of Steffi Bade-Bräuning from Esslingen, the young musicians impressed not only the judges, but also the audience.

The festival is considered Austria's leading international youth music festival and attracted more than 1,000 talented musicians from all over the world. Participants had the opportunity to perform in friendly concerts and compete in competitions. These celebratory cultural gatherings promote not only musical skills but also international understanding through the universal language of music.

A celebration for the youth

The Summa Cum Laude Festival takes place at renowned venues such as the Golden Hall of the Musikverein and the MuTh concert hall of the Vienna Boys' Choir. Here the participating ensembles can not only demonstrate their musical skills, but also interact with local residents and take part in intercultural workshops. Each orchestra chooses between a competitive performance or a non-competitive celebration – which makes the whole thing even more exciting.

In addition to competitions, the festival also offers educational lectures led by international juries of experts. Participants can look forward to two workshops that will help them expand their musical skills and refine their talents. After graduation, all musicians are rewarded with a certificate, which is not only a great souvenir but also valuable evidence for their future careers.

More musical highlights

This is another highlight in the calendar Rotary Youth Music Festival 2025, which will take place on April 26, 2025 in Finsterwalde.
