Amphitheater im Lebensbaumkreis Am Himmel, 1190 Wien, Österreich - in Vienna, 2025 will be all about the great composer Johann Strauss. An extensive program recognizes its 200th birthday and attracts with over 65 productions and three exhibitions at 69 different locations in the city. The series of events, which includes a wide range of art forms - from classic concerts to theater performances to installations - promises a unique experience for all cultural enthusiasts. The summer program starts in June with exciting events, which offer particularly many ways to enjoy the famous Waltz king from various perspectives for the Viennese. Johann Strauss 2025 Vienna presents the highlights for the summer event.

A main component of the festival will be the “in the sky” festival on August 2 and 3. The program not only promises musical delicacies, but also extraordinary experiences in the amphitheater in the life tree circle in the sky. On the first evening, an open-air concert with the sounds of Johann Strauss will open. In addition to the classic repertoire, the hip-hop duo Esrap will reinterpret the Viennese operetta with pianist Marino Formenti, while Bartolomeybittmann will perform rocking pieces and trauss miniatures. With a queer feminist version of the Danube Waltz, the cuddling will offer an exciting addition.
The following day, August 3, are on the program under the title "Strauss with view". Here a musically accompanied hike from Grinzing on the Paula-Wessely-Weg will be expected, where premieres from Wiener Song, Jazz, New Music and Electronics will delight the audience.

On August 3, there is also a cultural picnic that comes up with pop-up concerts and artistic interventions. Among the contributors are sizes such as Viktor Gernot and the band Marina & the Kats, who invite the children with a colorful program. The story "300 years of city history in episodes with Strauss in the Ferris wheel" by Claudia Seigmann and Markus Zett will also bring different city stories to life in 75 minutes. The topics range from industrialization to the climate crisis and utopias.
As a special highlight, the intercultural event "Summa Cum Strauss" will take place during the festival, in which youth orchestras come together to present trauss works. And last but not least, Wolfgang Mitterer will accompany five dancers in a happy apocalypse with a waltz, polka and Mazurka with a dance piece called "Strauss is pop".

The program starts on June 1st in the Vienna City Park with a staging of Strauss' first operetta as an exciting journey through all Viennese municipalities. In addition, a bouquet program with Camo & Krooked will be held at the Donauinselfest 2025. On July 5, the event "Summa Cum Strauss" awaits us in the town hall park before the premiere of "Wiener Blood" in the Schönbrunn Schlosstheater is on the plan on August 10. The Kunstwerk Oct.OPUS 25 will be presented in the Resselpark from August 15th and offers exciting events for four weeks.
