Wanda Fights Demons: New Book About Pain and Healing!

Marco Wanda, the charismatic frontman of the Austrian band Wanda, gives his readers a deep insight into his life. His first book entitled “That we even existed” will be published on August 19, 2025. How radiowestfalica reports, Wanda discusses in his book his experiences with drugs and alcohol, which became his downfall after an intensive tour.

After his big tour, Wanda was in a state of paranoia and sought help from the police in Munich. He describes this period of his life as deeply painful, but writing the book proved to be a kind of self-healing for him. After completing the work, he felt as if he had “conjured up magic and cried with gratitude to be alive.” Wanda portrays these emotional moments in powerful words, making the book a very personal and touching read.

A rock star between art and pain

Wanda and his band are known for hits such as “Bologna”, “Bussi Baby” and “Columbo”, and have developed from an insider tip to a figurehead of the Austrian music scene. The musician reflects on the stresses of being a rock star, the challenges that alcohol and drugs bring, as well as personal strokes of fate, such as the death of his father and that of his bandmates. These themes not only give the book weight, but also show Wanda's deep engagement with emotions and questions of fate.

In addition to his personal stories, Wanda tells of his Italian roots, his experiences during the Arab Spring in Cairo and a frightening night in Paris. These multifaceted stories make his book varied and invite you to think.

Plans for the future

Marco Wanda studied literary writing at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and is determined to continue creating relevant content, be it in music or literature. To promote writing, he is planning a reading tour through Germany and Austria and will give a Christmas concert in Vienna in December. Whether on stage or at readings, Wanda wants to share his profound experiences with his fans.

Wanda emphasizes that in the Austrian music scene he combines the pursuit of authenticity through artistic staging. While German artists often try to focus on a certain kind of authenticity, he strives to create something higher, beyond the obvious.

With his book and upcoming performances, Wanda wants to not only entertain, but also provoke thought - and he has certainly succeeded. For anyone interested in art and authentic life stories, his work is a must.
