Cultural summer in the castle: Free fun for the whole family!

Summer in Vienna brings very special highlights to the table this year - more precisely, in the Neubuilding Palace. It starts this Saturday, July 5, 2025 Cultural summer, which offers a colorful program of live music, sporting activities and the popular “cinema in the castle”. The best part? The events are free and take place in a picturesque medieval setting!

On the opening weekend, guests can look forward to a thrilling mix: On Saturday, country icon Karen McDawn will perform with her band at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday the families are in demand - from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. you can practice archery before “singing DJ” Chris K. ends the evening with music. The first Seans of the “Cinema in the Castle” will take place on Thursday, July 31st, with the new film of “How to Train Your Dragon”. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the performance begins at 8:15 p.m.

Films and more in August

The cultural summer continues in August. New Castle Building transforms into an open-air cinema throughout the month. Film evenings under the stars are on the program every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. From July 31st to August 30th you will notice that the good weather is being optimally exploited here.

An exciting program awaits visitors. There is also no skimping on culinary delights: popcorn and other snacks ensure your physical well-being during the performances. If you're wondering how much admission costs, you can look forward to affordable prices - for adults it's €12, reduced at €10 and children only pay €8 every Thursday. It's worth reserving your tickets in advance so as not to be disappointed on the evening itself!

Events that connect

To strengthen the regional music culture, there is also theNewcomer Dayson Sunday, July 27th, where young bands from the area give their best. A musical highlight is scheduled for July 26th, when the bandAustroTimeenters the stage.
