Cultural summer Vienna 2025: Over 500 free cultural acts for everyone!

From tomorrow it will be "Culture Ahoi!" in Vienna. The Cultural Summer 2025 opened on June 26th and moves through the city with a colorful program from more than 500 events and around 2000. From cabaret to dance to literature and contemporary circus - there is something for every taste.

The organizers rely on a motto that invites you to the hands -on culture: "Culture is where you are". Not only an access to art is created here, but also attention is paid to sustainability. Solar -powered stages and cool retreats are used in order to make the summer offer in an environmentally conscious manner. Entry to all events is free for everyone, so that people with lower access to cultural offers can also benefit.

The literature program in focus

A highlight of the cultural summer is certainly the diverse literary program. Buecher.at reports of readings in fantastic locations. In the Hyblerpark, Christian König will read about her debut "Everything you wanted" (Otto Müller Verlag), while Isabella Straub presents her title "Nullzone" (Elster & Salis Vienna) in the Waldmüllerpark. Further exciting readings present Christian Moser Sollmann with "Noble Lies" (Milena) and Herbert Hirschler from "Her with the Marie" (Carl Ueberreuter).

The appearance of Ulrike Haidacher, Elias Hirschl and Barbi Marković in the 21st district, where they give the topic "Horror, Internet & Malibu" with their texts, also particularly remarkable. The Black, Queer Poetry Showcase rounds off the literature offer - talented voices such as Gawdesque, Tayla and Kweku appear.

The events take place throughout the summer in different locations in the city, including:

• Stadtpark Atzgersdorf, 23rd district

with a sensational concert on June 26 and 27 from 7:30 p.m. on the Kaiserwiese in the Prater. From June 29th to August 31st there will be a jazz Brunch on Rathausplatz from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. And for the little visitors, creative offers are provided with a children's program that starts on selected days at 10:30 a.m.

cinematic highlights in the open-air cinema

The cultural summer is accompanied by further cultural offers. The annual open-air film festival starts at Rathausplatz on June 28th and runs until August 31. Exciting films such as "Rigoletto" and "Sammy Davis Jr. and the begging student" will be shown this year. The cinema under stars on Karlsplatz also goes into the sixth round and brings the works of Peter Lorre and Michael Glawogger to perform.
