Classic sounds for the New Year: Concert in the Floridsdorf District Museum!
In the heart of Floridsdorf, more precisely in the district museum at Prager Straße 33, the new year starts with a very special event. The traditional New Year's concert will take place on Sunday, January 7, 2024, inviting music lovers and those interested in culture to a festive morning. The event begins at 11:00 a.m. and promises a varied program with classical and Viennese light music.

Participants include Yuko Mitani as soprano, Christian Kotsis as baritone, as well as Judith Engel on viola and Rudolf Melchart on clarinet. Manfred Hohenberger also takes over the moderation on the piano.
Entrance and reservation
There is an entry fee of 25 euros for this muddy musical treat. This price includes not only the musical performances, but also a small buffet with rolls and a glass of sparkling wine. Diverse cultural program in January
The New Year's concert is not the only highlight in January at the district museum. Loud wien.gv.at a total of eight events are on the program. On January 10th at 6:00 p.m., visitors can expect an exciting lecture by Andrea Böhm about “Erich Graf Kielmansegg and his dream: Floridsdorf should become the capital of Lower Austria,” and entry is free. There will also be another New Year's concert on January 12th, which includes music by well-known composers and also offers good musical enjoyment for a price of 25 euros.
Under the direction of Ferdinand Lesmeister, the museum's volunteer director, a wide range of cultural events will continue to be offered. From hands-on concerts to instrumental afternoons – there is something for everyone!
Cultural roots in Floridsdorf
The “Friends of the Beethoven Memorial in Floridsdorf” association, founded in 1976 and led by Eva Krapf since 1998, plays a central role in the cultural life of the district. The collaboration with the district museum has existed since 2013 and has produced numerous events that continue to ensure a lively exchange and high number of visitors.
