On June 20, 2025, the Grätzelfest took place in Dr. Franz Koch Hof in Vienna-Floridsdorf was a particularly exciting edition, as the 5th event of the Vienna Table Tennis Cup took place as part of this lively event. In brilliant weather, numerous visitors gathered not only to watch the sporting competitions, but also to experience culinary delights and be entertained by atmospheric music. The district was dressed up and the atmosphere was consistently festive and inviting, as meinbezirk.at reports.

Amidst these celebrations, district leader Georg Papai took part in the event. With a total of 16 players competing against each other in the “25 category” mode, exciting and hard-fought matches were guaranteed. The moderator ensured the right momentum while the participants gave their best to fight for a place on the winner's podium. At the end, everyone involved congratulated Mr. Ponjarac M. on his first place, followed by Ms. Ruprechtshofer B. and Mr. Riglthaler D., who took second and third places.

A celebration for the neighborhood

The award ceremony took place in an open, respectful and warm setting and was organized by the Floridsdorf Wohnpartner team, which was praised by the participants for its great work. The initiative, which was launched by the Tischtennis Hobby Wien association, aims to promote sport, neighborliness and engagement within the district. “This is good business for the community!” said one of the participants after the event.

Even though the event only took place recently, there is already anticipation for the upcoming dates of the Vienna Table Tennis Cup, which are still on the agenda in 2025. Past events clearly show how important it is to create such opportunities for socializing and sport. The Vienna Table Tennis Cup, which has been held at various locations since February 2024, has focused on presenting the sport of table tennis to the public and promoting over 250 public plates for regional encounters.
