Four drug dealers arrested in Vienna favorites-police strike!

Wien-Favoriten, Österreich - Drug crime in Vienna remains a hot iron. On Wednesday, four alleged addiction dealers were arrested in favorites by the operational group to combat street crime (EGS). The assignment took place at the busy Keplerplatz and brought several suspects to the investigators. These were two Syrians aged 17 and 31 and two Algerians, 28 and 30 years old. During the personal examinations, the officials were not only able to ensure cocaine and cannabis herb, but also cash in typical poem. But these arrests are only the tip of the iceberg. Further measures in Margareten followed on Thursday. Two other men were arrested here, one of them a 21-year-old Turkish citizen and a 25-year-old Austrian. These two are suspected of being part of a criminal union and also operating the addictive trade on a larger scale. During missions in two bunker apartments, evidence on a large scale was ensured: around 700 grams of cocaine, about nine kilograms of cannabis resin and herb as well as around 17,000 euros in cash. There were also fake ID cards among the seized objects. A look at the current trends

The recent incidents again highlight the steadily growing problem of drug crime in Austria. According to the "Report on the Drug Situation in Austria" from 2024, which records developments in 2023, the demand for illegal drugs is still high. The report is commissioned annually by the European observation center for drugs and drug addiction (EBDD) and the Ministry of Health and provides comprehensive insights into drug markets, drug -related offenses and the legal framework. The emergency services are obviously on the zack and tirelessly in the fight against drug trafficking in the city. The multitude of arrests from the past few days shows that it is high time to actively tackle the situation. Drugs are not the way and the authorities are working to make the streets safer. In view of the immersed residents, there is now hope for more peace and stability in the residential areas.
