Austria Vienna holds young talent Ndukwe: contract signed by 2028!
The talent Ifeanyi Ndukwe caused a stir in the football scene. The 17-year-old was raised by FK Austria Vienna by the Young Violets into professional training and recently extended his contract until 2028. This shows that management has great confidence in the capacity of the central defender. Ndukwe, who is an impressive 1.98 meters tall and comes from the Brigittenau, is gradually introduced to the first team, while he will continue to collect important game practice in Admiral 2nd league.
The decision that the young player had to make in April is particularly noteworthy: A head scout from Inter Milan was on site during a game of the Young Violets in Krems and wanted to sign Ndukwe to integrate him into the professional team in the long term. But the talented defender decided to remain with Austria Vienna, which underlines the club's appreciation for him, as his consultant Georg Lederer from "More Than Sports" confirmed. In the past few months, NDUKWE has drawn attention to himself and was finally promoted by the U18 team to the Young Violets.
The way to the professional
ifeanyi ndukwe already showed leadership skills last summer as captain of the U16 championship team. After just half a year at the U18 level, he received a regular place in central defense under coach Max Uhlig this winter, after the previous player Valentin Toifl failed due to injury. In 13 missions in the regional league East, he demonstrated his talent and contributed significantly to the vice championship, which resulted in promotion to Admiral 2nd league. Preparations with the professionals begin on June 23 and offer Ndukwe the opportunity to develop.
An important aspect of talent development is the environment of the young athlete. As research shows, parental support, relationship with trainers and dealing with criticism play a crucial role in the success in sport. Many young talents have a hard time making the leap into professional football: An ARD study showed that of over 5,700 former U19 players, only 3.5% made it into the squad of a professional club. Ndukwe is aware of these challenges and works hard on its development.
big plans for the future
The Kahlenberg, where Ndukwe likes to spend relaxing moments with his brother, was not only a place of calm, but also inspiration for his personal motive for the contract signatures. He describes the calm atmosphere as perfect for his character - a nice sign that the young player is grounded despite the pressure associated with professional football. The way to the Bundesliga is rocky, but with the right basics and support of his club, IFeanyi Ndukwe could soon be one of the names that are very popular in the Austrian football scene.
