Schools for everyone: collection campaign in Leopoldstadt and Brigittenau!
In Leopoldstadt and Brigittenau, an important school-matters are currently running. Well -preserved learning equipment such as school bags, backpacks, snack boxes and other utensils will be collected by August 22nd. The aim of this initiative is to support families in financial difficulties before starting school by making school materials available to the children free of charge. The campaign is carried by different organizations, including the GB* district office and the district head Brigittenau, which act as collection points.
The donated school matters will be spent on authorized families free of charge on August 26 and 27, 2025. On the two days, parents and children can come to Brigittenau (2nd floor, room 2.16) between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. and pick up the necessary. The opening times of the collection points are flexibly designed, so many have the opportunity to make their contribution.

In order to counteract this, 49 schools and almost 8,000 students have already participated in the school collection of the Youngcaritas, in which 450 filled school bags were collected. This commitment is of great importance, since education is being inherited in Austria and thus the chances of a better future will be influenced.

The topics of poverty and social justice are not only important for adults, but also for young people. A project of the Youngcaritas encouraged to help and deal with these topics. The children bring school matters in good condition, which are then picked up in the last school week before the new school year.
The pedagogical objective of this project is clear: to take responsibility and to pay attention to the needs of low -income. Pupils of elementary schools take over the organization of the collection and help to improve the educational opportunities of their classmates.
